FIREARM SAFETY RULES
• The person handling the firearm is responsible for preventing accidents. Never joke or engage in horseplay with a firearm under any circumstances.
• If this is your first time using a firearm, seek instruction from a qualified firearms instructor and practice at a recognized shooting range.
• Always wear appropriate eye and hearing protection when shooting.
• Follow all firearm safety rules at all times and make them a habit.
• Always assume the firearm is loaded until you have personally verified otherwise.
• When not in use, store the firearm unloaded and secured.
• Only use the correct caliber and type of ammunition specified for your firearm. Store firearms and ammunition away from moisture, humidity, and other damaging environmental conditions.
• Unless required for immediate defensive use, do not keep a cartridge in the chamber.
• If carrying the firearm in a ready-to-fire condition, ensure you fully understand the operation of all safety mechanisms. When not actively in use, keep the firearm's safety engaged.
• Never point the firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot.
• Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire.
• Always point the muzzle in a safe direction when loading or unloading the firearm.
• Do not shoot at hard surfaces, rocks, or water, as ricochets can cause serious injury or property damage.
• Never handle or use a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair judgment.
• Keep your firearm clean, properly maintained, and inspected regularly.
• Store firearms securely and out of the reach of children, unauthorized persons, and anyone unfamiliar with their safe operation.
